ecoBirdy’s kids’ collection enables kids to experience creativity, while raising awareness on sustainability. Born as a research project co-funded by the European Commission, the designers created a whole system, from the collection and recycling of discarded plastic toys to the design and production of the furniture. Items are made entirely out of recycled plastic and the manufacturing is to a great extent done manually through ecoBirdy patented process. The products’ speckled look is a vivid eye-catcher and a recognizable result of recycling: a conscious choice to make waste material look beautiful. Rounded edges and smooth silky surfaces make the furniture pleasant to the touch and easy to clean.
