Carpet becomes art – art becomes carpet. In TOKIO, Jan Kath brings images by the photographic artist Stefan Emmelmann to the carpet. Millions of pixels from digital templates are added knot by knot in silk and wool. The result is an immense display of colors in which the beholder can discern nocturnal street scenes from Japan.
