Profile
Located in the outskirts of the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. A-INDUSTRIAL was founded by creative partners Andrew Hernandez & Jackie Munoz. A-INDUSTRIAL is a fully integrated design-build creative studio that streamlines a phased, project delivery method that takes your project from concept to construction. We collaborate and work with you and your ideas to bring your projects to a constructed realization. Collaboration and communication are key fundamental elements that blossom creativity and progress. The design behind projects are driven from formed function and inspired imagination drawn from our series of phased meetings.
Our "one-stop shop" studio approach assist you in avoiding the trouble in finding the trusting entities needed to design, bid and build your project. We have all the resources to fulfill your needs including relations to trusting engineering consultants and honest sub-contractors. Our working relationships are a constant feedback loop of information and communication with yourself, us and our consultants to keep creative projects on track and on schedule.
Biography
Andrew Hernandez

Andrew Hernandez is professionally accredited under the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). He is also an active associate member in American Institute of Architects (AIA) and AIA/LA. Andrew holds a National Council of Architectural Registration (NCARB) record and a membership of the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA).
Andrew is also an experienced builder with a Class B General Building Contractor license in California CSLB LIC #969373. and a member of the Design-Build Institute of America. His strong belief in an integrated approach with design and construction resulted in in co-founding A-INDUSTRIAL as a creative design-build studio in 2009. In 2008, he also co-founded APHIDOIDEA, an art collective installation group where he currently participates as a senior collaborator.
Previously, Andrew worked as an associate at Caldwell Architects under John Caldwell, an apprentice of influential architect John Launter. He also worked for the public California University system for years where he designed and managed several projects in all phases including construction administration, accessibility design and urban master planning for USC, CSU Pomona, CSU San Bernardino, Long Beach Community College and Santa Monica Malibu School District to name a few.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from the College of Environmental Design / Department of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona in California. He also studied Architecture at the National Technical University School of Architecture in Athens Greece. Andrew has also studied Industrial Design and Technical Welding. He also is certified as an Access Plan Specialist at the California Division of the State Architect (DSA) Academy. He is an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at Mt San Antonio College where we instructs a Design-Build focused studio and Architectural Fabrication courses.
He has been a guest instructor and mentor at the ACE Academy with AIA-SB/LB. Andrew also has been invited nearly every year since 2007 as a juror / design critic for the Dept of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona.
Jackie Munoz
awa+d, adjunct professor of Architecture
Jackie Munoz studied Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic University in Pomona. She also studied Architecture at the National Technical University School of Architecture in Athens, Greece. She holds a Bachelors of Architecture (B.Arch) and has been recognized by her peers and her industry for her conceptual to development design skills. After years of acquired retail development and commercial design experience, for clients such as Target, In-n-Out, and Fresh n Easy, Jackie focused her talents on providing personalized design services to residential and small business clients with A-Industrial Design/Build.
In 2008, she also co-founded APHIDOIDEA, an art collective installation group where he currently participates as a senior collaborator and utilizes her conceptual and schematic design skill set to detail and fabricate architectural installations. At A-Industrial, Jackie coordinates all her project designs for fabrication and construction while overseeing that the design intentions aren't lost in construction.
Her passion in diverse design brings her interests in industrial, furniture, interior, graphic and functional design into a fused enriched design approach to projects at A-Industrial Design/Build. She is also an advocate and member of the Association for Women in Architecture + Design (AWA+D). She is also an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at Mt San Antonio College. Her exploration in architectural materiality and design principles are manifested in every facet of our design-build project delivery. She believes in spatial experiences and a humanistic interaction with frequent design that compliments your lifestyle and enriches your culture.
