GLAD, Guy Lafranchi Applied Design, is an architecture and design studio which was established in 2009 by Guy Lafranchi in Liebefeld, near Berne. Guy Lafranchi completed his architectural studies at ETH Zurich and obtained his diploma under the tutelage of Professor Flora Ruchat in 1994. Lafranchi has been working independently since 1995, which was also when he began collaborating with Lebbeus Woods. He has also been Associate Director of the RIEAeuropa (Research Institute for Experi- mental Architecture) since 1997 and is a co-founder of RIEA.ch in Berne (Switzerland). Lafranchi has exhibited his work at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London, the Nederlands Architectuur- instituut (NAI) in Rotterdam, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Technical University of Berlin, the Lund School of Architecture (Sweden), the University of Alicante (Spain), the Malmö Konsthall art gallery (Sweden), the Technical University of Oslo (Norway) and the Politecnico di Torino (Italy).
