About
Despite Milan Design Week 2020 being cancelled this year, Isola Design District keeps moving forward, starting a digitization of their event to give the same and even more visibility to the emerging designers and the independent studios of their community also online.
On their website, there will be four new sections, always available from laptops, smartphones and tablets and they will be launched together with a program of live streaming events from June 16 to 21.
First of all, there will be the Isola Design Community section, where to find profiles of designers and design studios, who will be able to showcase their projects, share photos and videos, and even communicate with clients, buyers, and partners through a direct messaging tool.
The Isola Design Magazine, instead, is an evolved version of the previous Isola Design District blog and will keep visitors up-to-date on the latest news from the district and the world of design in general. Media partners and designers will also contribute various topics such as innovation, circular economy, and bio materials.
The Isola Digital District will be a truly digital version of the Isola neighbourhood in Milan, an animated graphic interface to engage users. Here, it will be possible to access a series of different types of content, such as virtual reality exhibitions, live streaming events and webinars, design e-stores, a do- it-yourself restaurant, partners’ initiatives and also a game!
Finally, through the Isola Virtual Locations there will be the chance to explore virtual headquarters of different designers, brands, and companies, as well as tour the imaginary abandoned factory of the Isola Virtual Exhibition, that will host a collective exposition curated by the Isola Design District team.
For more information, be sure to visit www.isoladesigndistrict.com and don’t miss the launch of the platform.
