COMPANY FACTS AND VISION

Klaessons is one of the leading Scandinavian producers of designer furniture for public settings. We work with Danish, Swedish and Finnish designers who have a sophisticated European design ethos that is rooted in the Scandinavian traditions of light and simplicity.

Our highly skilled workforce and suppliers work to exceptionally high standards of quality. Klaessons has always been associated with uncompromising quality and finish. We like to look at things from new angles; to play with new concepts and ideas; to try out different shapes and materials. This has been our approach for many years and we have considerable evidence of its success.

Klaessons’ target clients are specifying architects, interior design retailers, and buyers and users in design-conscious organizations and companies in Sweden and abroad. Our products are mainly distributed through retailers in Sweden and abroad.

Since 2004, the two brands Materia and Klaessons have been part of the office furniture group Kinnarps and operate under the joint company name of Materia.Klaessons AB. Each brand serves the market independently with its own portfolio of products, Together we have a turnover of over SEK 100 million and employ 47 people.

Klaessons has showrooms in Tranås, Stockholm and Oslo that demonstrate how design-conscious companies can stamp their identity on their premises and communicate and emphasize their brand with the aid of Klaessons’ products.


HISTORY

Klaessons has a history of making quality furniture that stretches back over a century. The company was founded by Aron Klaesson, a master carpenter, back in 1896. For over a hundred years Klaessons was based in Fjugesta, just west of Örebro. In 2005 the business moved to Tranås in northern Småland. Since 2004 Klaessons has been an independent brand of the office furniture group Kinnarps.
