Respect tradition – rethink design
Lasfera designs, develops and distributes lamps, chairs, shelving systems, tables as well as accessories for home and office interiors based on traditional production skills.
Handmade products have a history – and they tell a story, namely the story of the craftsmanship from which they come. Traditional, regionally flavoured craftsmanship techniques, modern European-inspired designs, and progressive technology with the idea of sustainability come together in lasfera’s furniture and living accessories.
Made masterfully by hand, the products are never completely identical as in industrial bulk production. Each individual product is thus unique – and that is exactly what gives it its special quality: its authenticity. The history of the item can be seen and felt; touching it produces a connection to the cultural area from which it originates.
Special products by special artisans
We at lasfera look exclusively to small companies with craftsmen who cultivate traditional techniques for its products – be it a bamboo weaver in China, a stonemason in Italy or a woodturner in Germany. Some of these techniques are in danger of extinction. lasfera is not about preserving these ancient techniques in a museum; from the integration of new materials and technologies and through modern design, this craftsmanship is much more relevant in the here and now. When developing a product, we work closely with artisans whose mastery and experience in dealing with certain materials flows into the creation of the product. “Craftsmen who can do something special should make something special,” is our credo.
