Profile

VOLOKHOVA PORCELAIN was founded 2010 in Berlin. The studio focuses on functional objects at the border between art and design. Volokhova’s work updates traditional European porcelain manufacturing with contemporary ideas. For example: animal part shaped vessels transfer the poetic side of the biological into porcelain. By making the familiar unfamiliar and reversing inside and outside, these “still life” arrangements functioning porcelain vessels are unique in their shapes. Usually they are produced in small editions at the local porcelain manufactory in Germany.
