Our first collection will help you discover Japan, ‘the land of the rising sun’. Japan is a country of extremes, a fascinating mix of tradition and innovation.
Ancient gods, customs and craftsmanship go hand in hand with the very latest technology, futuristic fashion and design.
These contrasts have been incorporated almost symbolically across our 4 themes, which have resulted in a contemporary, classic design. The subtle weave structures support the unique colour pallet.
TATAMI (rice mats) and RAKU (ceramic tea cups) are reminiscent of age-old traditions for which Japan is still renowned such as the tea ceremony, in which hospitality and tradition play an important role.
WABI SABI means authenticity and the beauty of imperfection; allowing the effects of the past to shine through.
ENSO represents essence, minimalism, serenity and simplicity. ‘Zen’ grows out of just such a tradition : years of discipline and meditation, the quest for awakening and enlightenment. ENSO remains a living tradition today, although it has strong and deep roots in the past !
The harmony between the themes is so natural that this couldn't have been done any other way, as if they had been created by some sort of higher power.
