Pedro Livni (born Nov 26, 1973) is one of the prominent figures in current Uruguayan architecture. With a distinctive approach to form, materials, and weight relationships in equilibrium. He mostly built in his native country and his work mainly focuses on small-scale projects that allow him to use customized production techniques.
Born in Montevideo, Livni graduated from the School of Architecture at the Universidad de la República, Uruguay, and opened his practice in 2002. In 2011 he obtained a Master's degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Currently is Associate Professor in the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad de la República, Uruguay, and Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Torcuato Di Tella University, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In 2012 he was selected curator of the Uruguay pavilion for the XIII International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale. In 2013 he was invited as a lecturer for the XIV International Architecture Biennial of Buenos Aires. He has also been guest professor and lecturer in several foreign universities.
