Podpod design studio was founded by sister and brother team Iris and Michael Podgorschek, who graduated in industrial design at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna after studies with Hans Hollein, Ettore Sotsass, Alessandro Mendini, Richard Sapper and Paolo Piva.
The interaction between the fields of light, space and object in combination with creativity and deep analysis of usability lead to the development of innovative and precise solutions. The main focus of their work is light planning and design of lighting fixtures for interior and exterior use.
One of the podpod design’s most exciting projects is the new lighting for the Wien Opera House. The next step will be the lighting master plan of the whole historic centre of the town, which Iris and Michael Podgorschek have been charged with.
