Resembling icebergs on the surface of the sea, the different trapezoidal cushion shapes emerge from the large horizontal double-sided aluminum seat. Contract design: meeting places, report, service, work, culture and education, waiting and reception, trade and transit, food and fun... Like the previous projects by Bartoli Design for Segis, Iceland is meant as a sign of specialization for high attendance contexts, where it is important that the furniture work as elements of identification of the space. Hence the search for an iconic design for Iceland, large double sided bench with trapezoidal backs that seem to float as icebergs on the seat. The legs and seat are made of a technological sandwich where the painted aluminium sheet plays a supporting materials and composite lightened.
The shims are thin, a challenge to the size still under development. The back panels in seven different silhouettes are padded and covered anti-soiling and impermeable materials. The finishes and colours recall the natural world in his strong elements: ice and snow, with powders containing, rocks, lava, the lands and the undergrowth. White, black and dirty colours that refer to nature hard and primal force of Icelandic landscapes.
