Mmaah was founded by two brothers in the heart of Berlin and brought to life at the biggest park in Europe, Tempelhof Airport, treating the Berlin street-food scene to another culinary delight.
Envisioning a consequent and still playful concept they ended up in Adrian Schefer's office and had him create a food-box and a restaurant for them. The hard lines become refined by use of a matte-black background and the red counterpart break them up.
The architecture needed to translate Mmaah's focus on Korean barbecue and fine teas into the language of form. Being able to peek into the kitchen through the brown-gold lacquered wood implies a certain transparency, but at the same time establishes a clear distinction and builds a joyful anticipation between the visitors and the chefs.
The hard, rough, concrete floors provide a contrast to the filigree lights and places the guest peacefully between earthiness and ease and successfully frames the taste of Asia.
