Modern lightness and exciting contrasts have been introduced with great sensitivity into the structure of the 1930s villa designed by the Austro-Hungarian architect Miklós Bukovics.
The Villa S. has been in family ownership for generations on the shores of Lake Traunsee. Built by Miklós Bukovics from 1929-32, it was expanded in 2016 with a spacious cube. This addition brings space and light into the carefully renovated walls and creates a seamless transition between indoors and outdoors with its continuous glass front. Great emphasis was placed on keeping the aesthetics as simple and pure as possible.

Living both inside and out emphasizes light, air, connecting color elements, and selected design classics.
We designed the entire interior design (except for the bathroom and kitchen) for the bright interior space in collaboration with the homeowner family. The interior design is modern and uncomplicated, mirroring the residents themselves – design classics like Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Chair from 1929, Harry Bertoia's Diamond Chair designed for Knoll in 1952, or Gaetano Pesce's 1960s icon UP for B&B Italia playfully contrast with old family pieces such as the antique tiled stove or the sparkling chandelier pair.

OPEN SPACE STRUCTURE FOR THE HARMONIOUS INTERPLAY OF OLD AND NEW
In addition to extraordinary shapes, special materials give the interior its character: a dining table whose design explores the materiality of the delicate metal plate to the limits of fineness and stability, floor lamps that capture the light like balloons, and lounge furniture that offers a feeling of relaxed simplicity.
