HOTEL MUNDE | RESTAURANT BIERECK

Hearty, down-to-earth hospitality and Black Forest cosiness in a modern feel-good atmosphere are waiting for you at Hotel Munde in Hofstetten in the Kinzigtal. When redesigning the Black Forest Hotel, regional traditions and a strong connection to nature were of central importance.

The owners Manfred Streit and daughter Simone Weber have integrated the DNA and identification with the homeland in all areas. In doing so, they were always careful not to slip into nostalgic kitsch and thus relied on modern, homely and multifunctional furniture from Brunner, the design contract furniture manufacturer from Baden - which is now one of Europe's leading manufacturers in its sector.

Among the items used were products from the A, ray and fina collections, the award-winning halm hybrid chair, pads upholstered furniture and seminar equipment from the team and torino ranges.

"We were surprised by how many areas we were able to address with Brunner," reflects Weber with satisfaction. Her father adds: "When we first enquired, we were only thinking about seminar equipment. We never expected to find furniture for the restaurant, lounges, or rooms as well. This now plays a crucial role in shaping the overall aesthetic. Brunner was extremely accommodating to our needs." The end result is a contemporary restaurant with an inviting atmosphere in the same footprint as the original "Biereck". The new building is right next door, housing a seminar facility connected to a hotel with spa and lounge.

In the rooms, there is a lot of light wood, glass, and the gold-cream-smoky brown colour scheme across the accessories, upholstery, and fabrics to complement the property's natural setting on the forest edge. Cuckoo clocks, paintings by local artists, elegant lamps reminiscent of pine cones, a vintage tiled stove in the parlour, and other genuine regional artefacts complete the look. "For me, it was crucial from the outset for the building to have soul. We didn't want to offer the typical office and seminar atmosphere, but to show people who we are, where we live, and what Black Forest people are made of," Streit elaborates on his vision.

The comfortable fina club armchairs and fina bar stools, both with wooden frames and upholstered seat shells, that surround the event space help to achieve the restaurant's goal of a "feel-good atmosphere". The event space is dominated by versatile stacking halm chairs in a flawless combination of light wood and sturdy, white plastic featuring support cushions with coordinating fina covers.

The cosy lounge nooks invite guests to unwind on the comfortable pads sofa or in the relaxing ray lounge chairs. They are accompanied by the original valet, which functions as both a side table and a useful tray. These can also be found in the hotel rooms next to the ray soft upholstered chair.

Well-rested and refreshed, seminar attendees are ready to learn and absorb new information or focus on developing concepts, ideas and strategies. Thanks to the agile seminar equipment, the room can be set up as needed. Space-saving, foldable torino tables and stacking A-Chair's with and without writing tablets are the main feature. Speakers will be at home at the A-Pult or congregating at one of the 3000 sturdy standing tables for a casual chat during the break. In addition to a versatile wall system that can divide the huge seminar hall into three sections, the room can also be zoned in a variety of ways using mobile team partition walls. These can also be used as a presentation surface, where whiteboards or flip charts can be pinned or hung.

The father-daughter duo have accomplished something truly remarkable with the new Munde | Biereck. It is a space that is accessible, natural and sustainable with photovoltaics and extensive e-charging facilities outside the building.
