Mackage, a Canadian outerwear brand known for its edgy appeal, has shifted into expansion mode as the coveted brand continues to expand its network of flagship stores. This year marks the launch of its first Toronto locations, with two flagships opening at Toronto’s Eaton Center and Yorkdale Mall, with a store design that portrays an urban sophistication.
Building their global brand concept in creative partnership with design firm Burdifilek, the newest locations boast the largest expression of its concept to date. As the size of their collections continue to grow, Mackage is capitalizing on the opportunity to create a holistic brand experience to encapsulate the entirety of its expanding lifestyle collection.
To instill a sense of intimacy within the large space, the new concept is designed around the principle of compartmentalization. The space transforms into a gallery for the brand collection, with large windows showcasing a series of boxed vignettes punctuating the space, set at differing heights to play with scale and create visual interest. Stepping inside each vignette to shop collections creates an intimate, cocoon effect for shoppers to experience the brand promise, while the nobility of the finish palette provides a warmth reminiscent of a modern ski chalet. The European nero marquina herringbone floor elevates the style sensibility with a smart luxury, while splashes of white statuario marble, oversized mirrors, and brushed bronze and dark metals add a quiet sophistication to the palette. Purposefully manicured compositions grace the neutral space, crafting a shop experience that reflects the distinct approach of the Mackage experience.
To appeal to the discerning group of trendsetters and fashion-forward consumers who demand quality craftsmanship, detailing, and tailored style in the staple pieces of their wardrobe, the new concept encapsulates the luxury and modern sensibility of the brand collections.
