Analogous to the corporate culture of Sony the former spacial structure had to be changed towards an open, communicative office world.
In order to develop the best possible result for the special requirements of a music company, the operational and office space concept was jointly developed with the users from the beginning.
In the case of Sony, the specificity of the requirement profile consists of a mix of ‘normal’ work places with typical requirements for office tasks, as well as of a number of special work places that arise from the specific needs of the music business. The concept of the new office world is following the office of Sony Music in Munich, also designed by CSMM (former: conceptsud°). One of the most important structural changes, is the creation of a new reception space on the ground floor with a waiting area, communication areas and meeting areas, as well as multifunctional kitchens which are suitable as informal meeting and temporary workplaces.
The signature piece on the third floor is a multifunctional furniture, which redefines the open space and takes on different functions.
In order to avoid the uniformity of a particular language of form or of a furniture manufacturer, the individual departments could draw from a selection of predefined products and solutions and equip their office support spaces like kitchens, meeting areas, think tanks and central zones individually.
