Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is the largest lodging establishment in the European-style village, at the foot of Canada’s legendary Mont Tremblant. The landmark hotel recently invited DesignAgency to upgrade its interiors; to redesign the lobby, dining rooms and bars to broaden appeal to both hotel and outside guests.
Drawing inspiration from the Fairmont brand’s reputation for luxury and service, as well as themes of European chic and alpine glamour, DesignAgency redesigned the plush Axe Bar-Lounge, the elegant Choux Gras Brasserie Culinaire and the laid back Le Comptoir Cuisine du Marché, to create an array of exciting hospitality environments.
The lobby sets the scene with playful, mid-century-inspired furnishings in earthy tones, warm lighting and a concierge desk inspired by retro steamer trunk luggage.
Upscale and cosmopolitan, the Choux Gras Brasserie Culinaire is reminiscent of a 1930s Parisian brasserie, with generous cobalt velvet booths, dark wood walls, and pill-shaped brass mirrors that sparkle, reflect the daylight, and ensure exciting sightlines for every guest. A circular fireplace and windows fanning out to panoramic views of the Laurentian Mountains draw connections to the spectacular locale.
Just off the main lobby, opposite a double-sided fireplace, the Axe Lounge Bar offers a buzzy vibe for après-ski cocktails. Plush velvet and leather furnishings in autumnal hues offset the linearity of the room and create various zones for social interaction.
Le Comptoir Cuisine du Marché is a warm and casual family dining venue with a fresh kitchen-market look. The design team streamlined the buffet so that it’s more elegantly partitioned away from the diners by a glass-paneled screen. Working with existing wood and stone finishes, DesignAgency brightened the space with white tile, refreshed lighting and new furniture.
“We were excited to reinvent the Fairmont Tremblant to create a simultaneously modern and timeless atmosphere that would be welcoming and comfortable for both hotel guests and village visitors,” commented Allen Chan, co-founder at DesignAgency. “The refreshed hospitality spaces - from the buzzy bar to the casual buffet to the intimate brasserie - offer an array of different dining experiences for families and couples alike.”
