EDGE is a real estate developer that focuses on smart, sustainable and long-lasting solutions in construction and has already been awarded over 40 international prizes for sustainability and innovation. EDGE's approach is based on four pillars - well-being, sustainability, design and technology. The first German EDGE office building, EDGE Grand Central, was opened in the immediate vicinity of Berlin's main railway station. Thanks to its ecologically sustainable construction and energy efficiency, the building received the highest rating twice: the DGNB "Platinum" certification as well as the pre-certification with Well Gold Core & Shell as the first German building. The use of more than 3000 m² of Kugelgarn® from Fabromont also contributed to these awards, as the textile floor covering impresses with its durability and longevity.
These values are also valued and lived by the main tenant of the EDGE Grand Central, Scout24 SE. Scout24, operator of the digital marketplace ImmoScout24, uses six of the nine floors available for rent and has created a future-proof and innovative office concept in cooperation with combine Consulting GmbH. Scout24's agile way of working makes it possible for employees to flexibly choose an individual work location that is best suited to the fulfilment of the respective task and optimally supports them in terms of its equipment. This way of working leads to frequent changes of workplace due to the many different areas of the office landscape, thus putting the flooring to the test. Kugelgarn® was laid in all corridor areas, some of which extend into open-space areas. In Atlas holunder 863 quality, the textile floor covering can also offer acoustic advantages.
Kugelgarn® is an ideal choice where people communicate, work in a concentrated manner and are creative. All this applies to the young, international team of Scout24 in the new, ideal premises. Thanks to its cut resistance and freedom from direction, the textile floor covering can be used multifunctionally and contributes to the high-quality design as a homogeneous surface in the most diverse office areas. At the same time, it also forgives coffee stains or similar thanks to its easy-care properties or the possibility of replacing only individual parts without revealing seams afterwards. This means that the corridors remain usable for a long time and can serve as a safe surface for the busy daily business at Scout24.
