In September 2023, a new building for the well-known tourism school in Klessheim near Salzburg opened. It was built using sustainable and innovative construction methods. The aim was to create an open and modern educational campus with a perfect learning environment for the future talents of the tourism industry. This was realised by architect Max Rieder. The open-plan room concepts allow for better communication and encourage individual work. To support these good communication conditions, the textile floor covering Kugelgarn® in the quality Resista® Cosmic monsun and Graffiti volcan were installed in the learning areas. This not only fits in with the impressive learning concept, but also with the low-energy construction method in which the building was constructed. Photovoltaic systems and heat pumps are used as well as concrete core activation for environmentally friendly heating and cooling of the building. An extremely durable and hard-wearing floor covering perfectly complements the concept. The result is, in their own words, the ‘most modern school in Austria’.
