Rail and balusters supports the seat and gives it stability. The backrest is braided by 3 mm ash plywood, which gives the bench a soft and playful look. The seat has a concaved milling indicating the seating position, which gives the bench a comfort.
Furthermore a thin reversible cushion is designed to add more comfort and make individual styling possible.

Bendy Bench - Wood that bends
Plywood is a frequently used material when working with furniture. With the Bendy Bench, we have challenged the characteristics of this material and created new ways of using the plywood.
The use of plywood for the back of the bench enabled us to create a strong back without having to go through the process of molding the wood. The idea was based on basket weaving techniques which were enlarged and simplified in the design. The processing and quantity of the material is reduced by working on a larger scale while creating a simple aesthetic and organic form.
