It’s the ever-dreamed house. You crave it, then you project it even in its tiniest detail. For 20 years, Mariano Grisenti and his wife Rita have meditated on how to make real the most natural human aspirations – feeling good. In Povo you feel good, on the hills decorating Trento. In a two-floor villa – about 90 square meters each floor in its raw state -, dreams began to come true when the architect Massimo Scartezzini was entrusted with the project. What do the Grisentis mean with “feeling good”? «One of the most fascinating aspects of my job – the architect said – is the strong relationship you bond with your clients, working with his desires. I have often met wonderful friends this way. In this case, we needed to create a “refuge” – a very cosy place, perfectly designed for a couple’s harmony and well-being. To get this goals, the wood floor has played a key role».
MR. ARCHITECT SCARTEZZINI, HOW DO YOU EVALUATE THIS REALIZATION OF YOURS?
It has been an extremely positive experience, one of the most interesting works of my life. As I mean my job, I have felt a huge responsibility because I got involved into my clients’ most intimate aspirations. I think I gave them what they had wished for a long time – a home in its most authentic meaning.
WHY HAS THE WOOD BEEN SO IMPORTANT IN THE PROJECT?
Biocompatibility is one of topics I have studied for a longer time in my professional career. In my opinion, biocompatibility is deeply attached to the environment we live in. Materials and biocompatibility go together inevitably. This home belongs to the tradition of Trentino and wood expresses the wholesomeness and splendour of this territory. Top-quality wood being the supporting and decisive element of their house.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE FIEMME 3000?
Talking about attachment to the territory, this company of Predazzo has a profound Trentino identity. Their territorial dimension speaks for their philosophy and the result is modernity and contemporaneity, experience and tradition. In this dwelling, you can feel the same concepts thanks to the simple and minimal but accurate design that well embodies the material presence of natural wood.
WHAT ROLE DOES TECHNOLOGY PLAY IN THIS HOUSE?
An essential role and – I must admit – I have to thank my client who has taken care of the electrical plant for a long time. The house is a A+ Class, supplied with a cutting-edge home automation system which monitors and regulates the home consumptions and temperatures. We paid great attention to these contents, to the healthiness and naturalness of every material used and to the agreeable integration between the indoor balances and the magnificent views you can stare at outdoor.
