Architecture firm, Fogarty Finger was hired to conceptualize and execute a new working environment for the company, a global headquarters in New York City for the new generation of Turner employees. The headquarters are located on the 6th floor with 55,850 sf, designed to inspire Turner employees and enhance the work environment. The design also aims to increase productivity, foster greater collaboration and help with recruiting, retaining and growing staff. Natural day lighting was incorporated throughout the space along with organic materials and textiles for an airy atmosphere indicative of the company’s modern direction. Turner Construction is a leader in the field of energy and environmental design with over 200 LEED-certified projects.
The project serves to establish new nationwide standards for all Turner offices (130 sq ft per person) as well as new furniture system standards.
Fogarty Finger incorporated regionally sourced materials and hardwood flooring throughout the space, effectively creating individual work environments, a flexible boardroom and office amenities while conceiving an expansive gallery atmosphere for the open office.
Integrated state of the art technology aims to introduce a new office culture to be collaborative and also environmentally conscious, eliminating a previous paper culture historically embedded in the company.
The project achieved the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design LEED Silver rating.
Through close collaboration with the Turner Construction Company, Fogarty Finger provided a design for their international headquarterspo that was grounded in tradition, yet fresh, forward-looking, and technological. The design is based on a rich palette of materials, and employs the use of light and reflections to create a natural flow throughout the space.
