Hard Day’s Night – a “Fab Four” experience at the world’s first Beatles hotel

Classics and modern hits in Liverpool
“When I'm home, everything seems to be right....“goes the chorus of the Beatles classic “A Hard Day’s Night”. Any Beatles fan will instantly feel at home at the four star Hard Day’s Night Hotel in Liverpool. Statues of the Fab Four adorn the facade of the building whilst the interior design has been subtly inspired by the “first ever boy band”.

The idea to establish a Beatles-inspired hotel in the band’s home town was born back in 1984, but it took over 20 years to make it a reality. The four-star hotel, which opened in 2008, offers 110 luxury guest rooms including two specially designed Lennon and McCartney penthouse suites, two bars, a restaurant and a wedding chapel.

When designing the hotel, architects Falconer Chester Hall sought to express the incomparable aura and the uniqueness of the band. The result is a stylish combination of luxury and the alternative flair of the 1970s and 1980s. The interior of the hotel is dominated by soft sand and brown colours. Each of the rooms and suites features an individual design that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of comfort. Exclusive Beatles artwork and selected pieces of furniture give each room a special touch. Quite aptly, the Lennon Suite features a white piano, while the McCartney Suite has a full suit of armour in honour of Sir Paul’s knighthood.

But the hotel is an eye-catcher not only on the inside. It is located in a Victorian building complex erected in 1884 and boasts large windows, archways and arcades. As a modern contrast to the period architecture, the building has been given a new roof which affords an excellent view of the Liverpool skyline. A special highlight which distinguishes the hotel from any other hotel in Liverpool – and probably in the world – are the stone statues of the four pop music giants. Four life-size sculptures of John, Paul, George and Ringo adorn the facade and keep the memory of the Beatles alive.

Class and classics are also hallmarks of the bathrooms at the Hard Day’s Night. The design of the Atrio and Essence faucet lines from GROHE focuses on cylindrical forms which evoke images of classic column architecture. Atrio is used as an exclusive wall-mounted 3-hole faucet in some of the rooms. Its Ypsilon handles are a new interpretation of the traditional tri-spoke handle.

In the other bathrooms, Essence single-lever mixers dispense water in an especially elegant and user-friendly manner. The innovative GROHE SilkMove® technology ensures comfort, easy operation and long life.
