Glarus / Muri, April 5th, 2022 - After two years of construction, the new three-house hotel "Caspar" opened its doors in Muri in Aargau in March 2022. The new hotel is named after the famous Murianer Caspar Wolf (1735 - 1783), who is one of the most important Swiss painters of the pre-Romantic era and is considered a pioneer of high-alpine landscape painting. The hotel ensemble consists of the newly built 'Wolf' and the two historic houses 'Adler' and 'Ochsen'. Architect Tilla Theus was responsible for the overall concept of the new building and the total renovation of the two historic buildings. The internationally renowned architect, who was born in Chur, has been running her office Tilla Theus und Partner AG since 1985, with which she and her team specialize in the planning and execution of new buildings in a challenging urban context, in the conversion and renovation of listed buildings, as well as in interior design and specializes in room design.
When furnishing the rooms, the three-house hotel relies on high-quality furniture from horgenglarus. In addition to the two restaurants, Ochsen and Adler, the more than 50 rooms, the conference rooms and a sacral-looking, multifunctional hall were furnished with different furniture from the Swiss table and chair manufacturer horgenglarus.
