The bank premises are located in a venerable building in beautiful Flekkefjord in Southern Norway. Flekkefjord Sparebank is one of the most influential banks in the region. The premises were becoming outmoded, so it was time to renovate the building and upgrade the organization itself. The new design is based on prevailing characteristics of a proud region; agriculture and the sea. These characteristics were transferred to the ceilings, walls, decor and lighting. The bank was transformed into a strong visual expression of the region, using excellent materials and new colors.
The walls tell the history of the bank, which was given an upgrade and new interpretation. The brass decor on the façade is continued inside, in the form of decorative slats in front of the glass that help screen for privacy and security. The slats and glass safeguard privacy while remaining transparent. The slats in the ceiling reinforce the visual effect of the reception area. It was important to differentiate the different zones inside the building to create areas on the floors and in the departments that are easy to navigate, which also adapt the building to modern working methods. The visual expression is modern with moody colors and lighting that were key elements in highlighting this concept.
