A unique building overlooking one of the most beautiful squares in Europe, Piazza Unità d'Italia, a place of tradition and innovation, a transit point between Central Europe and the Mediterranean, nestled between the sea and the mountains: this is the scenario where Il Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta in Trieste, recently restored to its former glory. Local materials and ancient techniques, such as, for example, the use of Fior di Pesco Carnico®, an exclusive Margraf marble coming from the only existing quarry in the world in Forni Avoltri (UD), which boasts peculiar shades ranging from gray to pink, from white to ivory, characterize the frames of the lifts and embellish the stairwell, which becomes a vertical art gallery. Interpreting the theme of complexity, the reception and service space, bathroom, dressing room and walk-in closet, are separate and in contrast with the sleeping area and are divided by a secret door hidden in the wall. Upon entering you are greeted by a contemporary space with precious material surfaces: dark wood ceiling, Venetian floor, cement resins and above all spectacular walls in Fior di Pesco Carnico®, Port Laurent and Palissandro, all precious Margraf marbles. The walls covered in marble, with its typical veining and chiaroscuro, reflect the light, giving a unique and refined atmosphere.
