Solvalla Horserace Track, New Office
The start for changing the Solvalla Horserace Track was the need to reach a younger client group and rejuvenate the brand. The first step was to find the company´s core values. Those values became the base for the visual expression of the track, from colour settings to the graphic design and interior design.
In order to appeal to a younger client group the organisation had to undergo some changes. The office was moved to new premises with a generous ceiling height and lots of daylight. The big windows are facing the track, which became the perfect background to the workplace and a natural reminder of their main activity.
The core values for the design were:
Alive
The office has an open floor plan where communication is prioritized. Big, open spaces give a more open atmosphere; it should be easy to interact with your colleagues!

Integrity
With big open spaces comes the need to have the possibility to some privacy. This was solved by adding acoustic screens to each work place and letting the furniture create smaller rooms within the room.
There are also three so called “silent rooms” pushed into the walls. These rooms are colour coded, one red, one green and one blue, draped in textiles like jewellery boxes. Whiteboards and flat screens are hidden behind the textiles. By pulling the textiles in front of the glass walls you can make the rooms even more secluded.

Meeting place
There are several different meeting places on the premises, ranging from formal conference rooms to spaces for spontaneous encounters and breaks. This is to encourage the staff to interact and communicate.

Wellbeing
In connection to the office there is a café that serves as the lunch dining room for the employees. Besides ordinary kitchen supplies there is also a professional espresso machine.
It´s to the café the competitors go to eat on racing days, when the horse drivers, owners and stable staff hang out with the office workers.
