For Massimo Vitali’s new private home in Lucca (Domus Vitali Klein) a 14th-century deconsecrated church converted into an open space villa - Rada Markovic Lighting Design Studio developed a project offering an optimal balance between lighting efficiency and energy cost-effectiveness, using LED technology driven by a smart lighting control system.

Kitchen work surface
Ultra-flat power sources as an advanced projector (PAD – design by Carlotta de Bevilacqua and Paola Monaco di Arianello), an innovative and efficient lighting solution designed by Artemide. Ceiling projector with 12 LED (14.5W 230V 4000K) technology with two different beam angles (spot and medium flood), for perfect illumination of the kitchen work surface without creating glare.

Blue Ceiling
Vertical orientation up to vaulted ceiling with multi-colored layers, in particular blue. It features diffused indirect lighting that utilizes 134W 4000K LED strips mounted above individual support rods , a system that is extremely slim, flexible, powerful and easily customizable, but at the same time sustainable. Rada Markovic lighting design studio created this lighting solution to optimize visibility and interaction between living and sleeping areas: architectural lighting and light art from the perspective of an inspirational symbiosis.

Metal Srairs structure
CREE LED Strip with high performance for internal space with focused light on metal structure and specific wall surface. The vertical illuminance defines and articulates spaces. It makes an essential contribution to the feeling of brightness of the environment and supports the visual tasks on vertical surfaces.

Working studio
Work studio of Vitali’s wife, Annette Klein, a jewelry historian. Architectural contrast in terms of materials (in the wall finishing: exposed brick instead of painted plaster) and the pre-existing structure (low ceiling made of dark wood), where these two niches in the internal wall served as a perfect match for creating personal, intimate lighting using 29W 3000K LED strips for each niche to bring out the warmth of the brick.
