Sedus Stoll

The name of the new building on the sprawling premises already says it all. It was built at the headquarters of Wittenstein AG in Igersheim, where a total of 1,800 people are employed. The culture of innovation is the focus of this mechatronics centre. Here movement is made possible and progress is stimulated. The 300 workplaces furnished by Sedus are highly mobile and all furniture is on castors. Depending on the task, teams can reorganise and reconfigure themselves again and again. Bright and open rooms support physical and mental flexibility and the unique feature is that development and production take place within a radius of 30 metres under one roof. The process partners move closer together as required – engineers and production have short distances and usually eye contact. Sedus met the desire for flexibility with many special solutions: All desks are on castors, as are partitions, storage units and communication elements. The personal documents of employees are in caddies, which in the evening are parked in a designated garage. So everyone always has their most important tools with them, no matter where or with whom they happen to be working in a team.
