Aspire Lounge

When your off on another business trip the last thing anyone wants before boarding a plane is to be sitting in a noisy, dull lounge. So, when we were approached by MRL to assist in the acoustic requirements for the new Aspire Business Lounge at Cork Airport our aim was to help create an ecstatically pleasing environment with calming acoustics, making for a perfect VIP Airport lounge and somewhere you can relax and work. Jennie Godsell, Founder and Director of MRL had designed a suspended raft they wanted to showcase and the rest was down to our design team to make it work. We decided to use our Freestyle product as not only is it acoustically pleasing but can be used to create beautiful wall and ceiling features. Jennie says - “We really love the versatility of the Freestyle product which was perfect for the open grid raft look we wanted to achieve and to provide noise absorption”

The results speak for themselves. The acoustic Freestyle raft which we have now named Kork in homage to the scheme are not only beautiful additions to the ceiling but have given the space a calm and peaceful feel, just was you need before a long flight.
