The ship, originally built in the 1950s, has long served as a scheduled-service and excursion vessel for the Lake Constance Shipping Company. Its increasing use as an event ship, however, meant new standards were required in terms of its interiors, as well as its gastronomic and technical specification.
Creating the experience for guests of being onboard a yacht for a day, the Säntis has undergone a complete refurbishment, which includes the enlargement of the main and upper decks.
A pared-down architectural language, featuring high-end materials like cherrywood and brass, marries the nostalgia of the scheduled-service boat with the feel of a modern luxury yacht. Contemporary crystal lighting on the walls and ceiling make for a glamorous atmosphere, while textile-covered walls optimise acoustics. Both private and corporate events can avail of the ship's new multimedia and gastronomic infrastructure.
The bow side of the ship houses a lounge, which can be transformed, if required, into an additional dining room, depending on the size of the event.
Wedding ceremonies can be conducted on the enlarged upper deck, under an awning, by the captain.
Sliding windows allow the interior to connect with the exterior as one continuous space.
