China Ma

China Ma it’s a place, where the heart and tea stay hot, and people are happy. This is a modern Chinese restaurant, located opposite the Kyiv South Station at the «Terminal Food» Shopping Center. The restaurant's cuisine is Cantonese, which brings together the best dishes from eight contemporary Chinese cuisines, combined with a collection of 25 rare varieties of tea.

The restaurant has an Asian character, it dominates the lively atmosphere of Chinese streets. Taking inspiration from the journeys, we noticed the original aesthetics in the chaos of the branched cobweb of telecommunication wires, that characterize the streets of China and Thailand, so we implemented this in the restaurant’s decoration.

Our key art object on the wall between the floors is a dynamic «live» installation on a large rounded LED screen, similar to the face of an Asian girl. It broadcasts a video of emotions. The composition is complemented by decorative elements of the above-mentioned black wires. To harmonize the space of the first and second floors, we built a small glass bridge on the second floor, which adds a bit of adrenaline to the guests.

At the entrance to the restaurant we created an eye stopper in the form of a media tube, which penetrates the interior space through the facade wall. It broadcasts Chinese messaging, setting the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

We wanted to create not only delicious, as well as a functional restaurant, given its location. We have provided a separate storage area for suitcases, because the restaurant mainly aimed at people who come to Kyiv or waiting at the station before departure. On the ground floor we created a toilet for people with disabilities and for mothers with young children is a changing table.

China Ma it’s a dynamic Chinese gastronomy with a pronounced sharpness of taste and impressions. From the first days of operation the restaurant has taken a firm position in the niche of Asian cuisine restaurants, which has recently seen increased interest from visitors. By the way, this trend is encrypted in the restaurant’s name: «China Ma» derives from «China Mania».
