As the name suggests, the Ampersand is not just a restaurant. It is barbecue & vinothek and restaurant & cigar lounge.
The former Havana restaurant was completely redesigned by BUILD_Inc. Architects and reopened with a new concept. The “Ampersand” is located in a building from the year 1896. The building points to the “Heimatschutzarchitektur” (1880-1915) of Switzerland. This epoch wants to protect historicism and consciously renounces lavish ornamentation, in response to the threat of modernisation. Elements of traditional architecture such as arches and columns were resumed. Colours and materials such as salvia green and heavy oak are the highlights.
The Ampersand creates an international ambience in Lucerne.
