×When BoConcept CEO, Mikael Kruse Jensen, got in touch with Jakob Lange, Partner and Head of Products at BIG, it was with the intention of developing something fresh and future-minded together, a collection of products that would represent the ambition and innovative spirit behind both companies. BoConcept has dedicated itself to the world of design and interior expertise for over 70 years, continuously elevating both the production and distribution of furniture, to become the world’s most global furniture retailer. Such an achievement is only attainable with continuous questioning, invention and improvement. Which is also true in the case of BIG, the architecture office founded by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, known for his ambitious and bold ideas and now head of a group with 700 architects spread around the world.

בBoConcept is an international player that has presence in markets all over the world and has built a team of extremely talented craftsmen and salesmen. Together with our creative forces at BIG, this creates a unique sort of melting pot,’ says Jakob Lange. The idea of designing a collection of furniture, readily available to the world market thanks to BoConcept’s extensive network of retailers, resonated with BIG’s own vision of working across borders and providing high-quality and uplifting design to improve people’s everyday lives. ‘As a designer, it is very attractive not only to design great objects but to design objects which can reach as many as possible,’ continues Lange.
The Nawabari collection consists of two sofa sizes, an armchair, two coffee tables and two pouffe sizes, intended for use in a myriad of interior environments, whether residential, hospitality or office spaces

×Though they are remarkably active internationally, both BoConcept and BIG feel strongly connected to their Danish design roots, believing that real craftsmanship and simple design solutions are valuable and important forces in facing some of today’s more complex challenges. ‘Danish design tradition is all about keeping things simple, getting to the basic ingredients of furniture,’ says Lange. The new Nawabari collection is the realisation of this shared heritage and enthusiastic visions for the future.
