For PEKA-METALL AG, true beauty is more than just a front.

×A modern kitchen should be individual and make an impression – after all, the days when it was just a place to cook are long gone. Nowadays it’s a space for living. So it’s only logical that materials and surfaces are playing an increasingly important role.

×But as Peka-Metall AG knows, good design doesn’t stop at the cabinet fronts: it’s a quality that continues behind closed doors, so to speak. For more than 50 years, the family company has been ensuring that storage space and cabinet interiors can be made the most of. Over the years, what began as a small firm that made drawer runners has evolved into a sizeable business that currently employs 130 people.
But despite its expansion, the company’s fundamental values have remained unchanged. At Peka, ‘Swiss made’ is more than just a label, it’s a philosophy. Everything takes place at the company’s site in Mosen near Lucerne – from the ideas stage and development all the way to production and marketing. Inspiration comes from major kitchen fairs and furniture shows all over the world.

×Take the Fioro design line, for instance, which responds to current tendencies towards open-plan kitchen design with a mix of premium materials. But day-to-day routines in the kitchen serve as a constant source of input too. The Pleno Plus larder unit is a prime example: in just one simple step, all the shelves glide out of the cabinet at once and present their entire contents.
‘We never run out of ideas! Right now we’re launching a drawer that can be opened from both sides,’ says Sandra Weber Blättler, who today runs the company together with her brother, Beni Weber.
