Interaction in the bathroom

With it, Hansgrohe SE’s luxury brand presented its first interactive control for the shower. Simple, intuitive and with a modern design, it makes controlling shower functions easier and simultaneously creates a spacious feel.

“Together with Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, we have realised the idea of a central control element for the shower with an interactive, purely mechanical contact area. In this way, showering becomes a sensual experience”, explains Silke Giessler, Head of Axor Brand Marketing.

The new, interactive shower control is both a calming influence and an eye-catcher for the senses. It combines several shower-control functions and water temperature regulation and flow into one unit. “Axor One enables water to be controlled in a new way in the shower. By bringing together several control components onto one single element, the thermostat fitting increases the attractiveness and functionality of the bathroom”, explain Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby. Various shower functions can be activated with a finger, back of the hand or elbow. The temperature is set using the central control knob, and a small lever-handle beneath regulates the amount of water. In Eco mode, this can be reduced by up to 50%. The water flow is controlled by gently pressing the large select buttons (“paddles”), with clear symbols indicating the different shower functions available to the user (e.g., head, hand or side shower).

The monolithic shape, fine proportions, distinctive details and minimalist design all create a timeless statement in any bathroom setting. In this way, Axor One is as visible as the user wants it – from a discreet chrome to a feisty red-gold or black. The fitting is available in fifteen different special finishes.
