Alape, founded in 1896 in Penig (Saxony), is a traditional manufacturer of enamel products that currently employs over 200 workers at two production sites in Goslar.
As a manufacturer, Alape stands for technical and functional quality standards as well as innovative and inspiring design solutions. Its aesthetic washbasin solutions are suitable for private and semi-public areas in architecturally-oriented environments.
Alape views the bathroom as an architectural space in which both its own requirements and those of the user should be met. With its diverse product range, the manufacturer aids with the planning and realisation of individually-designed bathroom architecture. This encompasses not only a wide variety of shapes and materials, but also innovative developments and the highest-possible production quality. The manufacture, for example, of washbasins and washstands with clear lines from “enamelled steel” is extremely impressive. The robust yet lightweight steel body is thereby coated with a high-quality, homogeneous glass surface, with the two combining to form a unit in the combustion process. This leads to robust and at the same time skin-friendly, food-safe and colour-resistant products. When it comes to the shaping process, precision, geometry and dimensionality all play a significant role in ensuring that the puristic designs, which have already been awarded several prestigious design awards, are perfectly executed down to the finest detail. For maximum design freedom, Alape collaborates with architects, planners and partners from other sectors on an ongoing basis, which repeatedly results in innovative solutions
The latest development is called “Folio” and is based on a newly-developed technique according to which a 3-mm-thick cover of glazed steel is precisely folded around the underlying furniture carcass. The front of the carcass is offered in five different semi-matt lacquer surfaces and is fitted with a push-to-open system. This results in precise geometries with minimum radii and flat surfaces that fully meet the requirements of modern bathroom architecture. Two depths, for wall and stand fittings, in three different widths are available. All the versions are without overflows, and are fitted with white glazed caps.
