Since 1972, Object Carpet has stood for quality, design and innovation in the contract furnishings sector. With Freestile the company is opening up new possibilities for creative floor design.
Many architects cherish hard floor coverings not only because of their appearance, but also because of their high resilience. At the same time, textile floor coverings with their endless layout and design possibilities are eye-catchers and once again on the rise. A product that combines the features and advantages of both product groups is the new generation of carpet tiles by Object Carpet. Thanks to its especially flat weave, Freestile has a modern and, for a carpet-tile, enormously hard look, without losing any of the advantages of a textile covering. These include first and foremost the improvement in room acoustics (up to 20 % compared to other hard floorings), high operating safety and pleasant walking comfort. Freestile meets the high requirements with respect to dimensional stability and acoustic effectiveness thanks to the new Akustik Plus backing on highly-compressed and heat-set PET fleece. The finely-textured surface is also ideally suited for those with allergies (TÜV certificate) since fine dust is demonstrably reduced by over 50 % compared to tiles or parquet, as certified by the GUI environmental institute. Thus, the new tile collection is especially suited to high traffic areas in commercial buildings in which the design aspect, too, is of importance. The expressive designs of designer duo Kathrin and Mark Patel allow unique interior designs to be realized. The 16 models in 4 bright and muted colourings have been inspired by the flair of historical cities such as Antwerp, Marrakesh and Tokyo, with the 50 x 50 cm tile size -allowing them to be repeatedly relaid to -create unexpected effects, transforming the floor into a seemingly multidimensional -experience.
In addition to quality, function and design, Object Carpet also considers sustainability and environmental responsibility a priority. No wonder, therefore, that the company has been awarded numerous design and corporate awards. The raw material for the textile elements is exclusively PET, which after its useful life can be recycled. The quality standards also require that floor coverings be low-emission and low-odour. This is certified by corresponding DIBt (German Institute for Structural Engineering) and GUT (Association of Environmentally Friendly Carpets) tests and certifications. The carpet tiles are easy to lay without permanent bonding and can be replaced at any time.
