For his Minimum collection for Falper, designer Victor Vasilev drew inspiration from the work of American artist Donal Judd, deftly balancing form and proportion with colour and material choices.

All Falper’s collections and designs, from best-sellers with updated finishes to entirely new ranges, can provide the foundations and finishing touches for a Living Bathroom. Designer Victor Vasilev's Minimum collection though has a particular sculptural power and can give a Living Bathroom a soul-lifting formal harmony.

Vasilev says his work is rooted in constant research into modern and contemporary art and architecture, the Minimum collection was inspired by the work of the great American minimalist artist Donal Judd.

Judd established an international reputation with what he called ‘specific objects’, meticulously crafted monolithic forms, hypnotic sharp-edged volumes that had an almost totemic impact. Judd also designed and built his own furniture, and his work deliberately blurred the lines between art and design. The Minimum collection, multi-faceted and modular, operates in the same blurred space, offering formal purity, expertly handled proportions and almost infinite compositional possibilities.

As any designer or architect knows, successful minimalism requires the highest level of craftsmanship, flawless finishing and an understanding of the essential qualities of any colour or material. And, on those terms, the Minimum collection is definitely minimal. But while its forms are spare, the options in terms of material and finish are generous.

Multi-faceted and modular, the Minimum collection comes in a maximal range of materials and finishes

The Minimum collection’s wash basin, available in two heights, showcases ten different marbles and eleven cement finishes. Minimum’s bathroom storage cabinet is available in 13 natural wood finishes and over 20 opaque and glossy lacquers. The Living Bathroom concept suggests that bathroom design should be an exercise in spatial creativity and the Minimum collection offers the beautifully formed foundations of the perfect composition.
