×Gaggenau’s latest innovation, Essential Induction, is the epitome of modern luxury. The cooking zone, which becomes simply a multifunctional stone surface when not in use, is a tool to make living easy and fluid without any aesthetic compromise. It’s precisely not about logos, but discretion.
Soft tech and the breaking down of boundaries
Essential Induction shouts quiet luxury in a number of ways. It embraces, for example, the all-important movement for soft tech, in which advanced technology is present but invisibly integrated into warm and inviting environments. It also speaks to our desire to live all of life around the stove. With Essential Induction, Gaggenau is doing away with the distractions and boundaries in a traditional kitchen and inviting all of life in.

בThis extremely innovative cooking solution with its minimalistic design, combines cooktop and worktop into one,’ says head of business development Kais Zaiane. ‘As there are no visible cooking zones or frames anymore it allows a seamless integration into any living space. The boundaries between living space and food preparation are eliminated with this solution.’
The multi functionality of the cooking island facilitates social interaction in the kitchen - when not in use the cook top becomes a clean surface that can be used for entertaining

×Transforming the cooking experience
This freeing from convention not only facilitates extra-curricular activities in the kitchen, but also enhances the cooking experience itself. In fact, Gaggenau’s design team observed an instant change in habits when testing out the system, with people instinctively placing ingredients and utensils immediately around the pot when cooking. It represents a significant behavioural change from our norm of working around the rigidity of a 60 cm cooktop. It’s a habit perhaps we didn’t know we wanted, but when the opportunity is given, we don’t hesitate to adopt, as it eases the flow of work and boosts the joy of cooking.
With Essential Induction the architect gains a freehand in the design of the kitchen environment and the user gains uncluttered surfaces for multiple uses

×Modern luxury may be shy in declaring itself, but you know when something’s got it.
