×A room of one’s own is often needed but not always possible to attain, especially when living in or travelling to any of the world’s biggest cities. These mico bedrooms manage to carve out space where one can settle in comfortably for a good night’s sleep. Lights out!

For their design of the VietNam Hostel, 85 Design chose a minimalist approach that helped reduce costs and the building’s environmental impact. Bright yellow accents and warm wood create a playful contrast to the unbaked brick walls of the compact dorm rooms.

As part of a house extension, OA added a quasi-free-standing bedroom structure to the roof of what was originally a two-storey home. Connected to the rest of the build via an unfinished steel staircase, the “master suite” includes a sleeping area and bathroom.
