"Slow Fashion" Furniture

'Slow Fashion' Furniture – the master project by Fredrik Färg initially suggests designs with a strong textile orientation. However, when you take a closer look at the lovingly designed details of his designs you become aware of the significance of the 'slowness' element which is contained in the title.

For example the Swedish designer found the inspiration for his armchair 'Coat' in the timelessness and elegance of traditional menswear, which is typified by a dress code, which has hardly changed for hundreds of years and is given class and quality above all by excellent finish and minimal nuances in styling.
The longevity of classical form, high-grade materials and perhaps a slight touch of criticism of the transitory nature of today's design world are themes which Fredrik Färg expresses in a poetic manner in his creations.

Bushido is an armchair which derives its inspiration from ancient Samurai body armour. When you sit on the chair the riveted back and side rests enclose your body like protective armour, cutting you off from your surroundings and providing a feeling of security.

The series 'Imbalanced Structure' was created in collaboration with Erika Janunger. The challenge here was to analyse the static characteristics of a material which is in itself insubstantial, namely felt, and to find formal strategies for circumventing fundamental static principles.
