A clear vision, followed by a process of diligent trial and error, led to Simon Legald's Form Chair series for NORMANN COPENHAGEN.
With so many potential combinations of its multiple elements, Normann Copenhagen’s flexible Form seating series is completely customisable, allowing buyers and designers not just to find the perfect chair, but to create it themselves

×Simon Legald, the designer of Normann Copenhagen's Form Chair, states “I had an idea of what the ideal chair should look like, and I have had this for many years.”
Often, the perfect vision of a finished project can be so clear in the mind of both designers and product buyers, professional and individual. But with such a specific vision, it can be impossible to find function and long-lasting quality in the perfect piece. Legald went through 20 different prototypes with a variety of angles, curves, colours and thicknesses in developing the Form series of chair, armchair and barstool. The end result is a tribute to the importance and elegance of form, as the performance of an Olympic gymnast, every movement and curve is a well-thought-out.
Despite over 50,000 different possible combinations of chair, armchair and barstool, thanks to its contemporary production and an innovative mounting solution, the finished product always retains its style

×For the Form Chair, Normann Copenhagen developed a mounting solution consisting of four moulded plastic connectors which fit perfectly to the seat of the chair, creating a seamless transition from shell to base. The innovative connectors make it possible for a host of different bases to be mounted in the same shell openings.
All elements of the Form Chair are customisable, with multiple and varied colour, material and design options for each section. With over 50,000 possible combinations, and a specially designed online tool to help buyers find the right one to fulfil their vision, the Form Chair series becomes much more than just the sum of its parts.
