In the spotlight: Original BTC at ICFF

Original BTC has recently launched a plethora of new products at its Paris and London showrooms. On May 19, these will be unveiled at its New York showroom and at the same city’s design fair ICFF (from May 20 to 23).

In general, these new products fuse classical forms with modern functionality, as is the case with the Banker’s and Oxford Double desk lights. The first has an old-world look — with its gracefully curved satin brass stem and milky white shade — yet features an integral LED light. Both practical and romantic, this lamp casts an ambient glow and a more focused beam. The second is a variation on Original BTC’s existing Oxford Lights and boasts two natural bone-china shades with subtly textured, quilted surfaces. These emit a gentle glow, while also casting a stronger pool of light below. A versatile design, the Oxford Double light comes as a pendant, floor or table light.

Like the Oxford Double Lights, the new Sopra Ceiling Light’s white shade has a quilted pattern (as well as a ridged or plain finish). And Original BTC is also launching the Mini Globe Wall Light, whose Art Deco-style globe is made of opalescent, anthracite-toned or seedy glass (containing bubbles). More contemporary-looking is the new, clean-lined May Pendant Light with its hand-painted stripes. This hangs from Original BTC’s trademark cotton-braided cable, as does the Fin Pendant Light with its white, ridged bone shade redolent of a spinning top.

Finally, the company will unveil its new Cooper Picture Lights. In brass, chrome or weathered brass finishes, these are available in two lengths to allow different types of artwork to be illuminated. As ever, Original BTC’s new offerings marry high style with functionality and convenience.
