Providing modern, versatile and ergonomically designed office furniture, PALMBERG was the clear choice to equip the NOI Techpark, a forward-thinking technological hub that envisions the work landscape of the future.

×There are many theories about the future of work. In Bruneck, it has already become a reality with the NOI Techpark, a modern space that nurtures bold, pioneering ideas and innovative projects. The former bus station not only impresses with its architecture, but also sets new standards in interior design. The amenities meet the demands of the working world of tomorrow, promoting collaboration, dynamic exchange and transformative thinking.
The concept behind the pioneering workspaces comes from Trias. With an exciting combination of renowned brands such as Vitra and the innovative manufacturer PALMBERG, the interior design experts from Brixen were able to win the public tender to design the interiors. Trias partnered with PALMBERG for a good ten years, yet it is only in the last three that the products from the German company have been increasingly integrated.

×Expertise with a feel-good factor
In numerous projects, Trias has used PALMBERG’s height-adjustable sit-stand workstations, which are high-quality and budget-friendly. ‘PALMBERG is ahead of its time in many ways – as is now the case with the P5 Flex series, a product that is certainly more and more demanded,’ says Trias Managing Director Michael Fischer. The series, which was awarded the German Design Award 2024, enables flexible, customisable office setups thanks to mobile project furniture that merges both design and functionality.

Whether for focused work, team dynamics or effective collaboration with a colleague, the desks, chairs, shelves and other P5 Flex components can be easily combined and rearranged for each project phase. Such mobile quality evokes PALMBERG’s characteristic approach: to support different working methods and employees’ unique personal preferences. This was crucial to design functional areas with a comfortable, feel-good atmosphere at NOI Techpark.

×Public tender
‘It was a quality tender where one had to sample and technically describe the right products,’ Michael Fischer continues, ‘and PALMBERG simply convinced us, for example, with the fact that they have laser edges on tables as a standard.’ The company, headquartered in Schönberg, is considered to be one of the most modern office furniture factories in Europe. Advanced technologies guarantee fast and precise production while simultaneously saving material resources and energy.
PALMBERG’s sustainable production aligns with the principles of the NOI Techpark. NOI stands for ‘Nature of Innovation’, a guiding motif embodied by the residing companies, such as Automotive Excellence Südtirol, a network of leading automative suppliers in South Tyrol, and the University of Bolzano. Sustainability, mobility and a forward-thinking vision are central here, and that’s precisely what PALMBERG’s furniture expresses.

×Versatile product portfolio
The building complex in Bruneck provides employees with research units, offices, co-working spaces, event locations and conference rooms. PALMBERG’s versatile ranges of desks, cabinets and other office furniture bring an elegant and functional foundation for various requirements. For example, acoustic elements from the TERIO PLUS series, together with PENSUM tables, offer opportunities for focused work. At the same time, partition walls help to visually separate individual areas without restricting the spaciousness of open rooms.

As Michael Fischer suggests, the biggest challenge in working with PALMBERG is convincing architects about the manufacturer. Unfortunately, PALMBERG is not yet known to everyone: ‘It takes some time to convince them, but PALMBERG’s price-performance ratio and quality are very good.’ Many companies, including smaller businesses, are currently rethinking their approach in view of the skilled labour shortage, as attractive workplaces are considered essential in attracting qualified employees. In this context, affordability without compromising quality is an unbeatable argument.

×Paving the way for tomorrow, today
The companies located in the NOI Techpark are also seizing the opportunity to score points with ergonomic and diverse workplaces. And the site in South Tyrol is growing. ‘The NOI Techpark was the first lot we won with PALMBERG, and two more lots have been added in the meantime,’ reports Michael Fischer, ‘construction is continuing and a lot is being invested in the technology park in Bolzano.’

×With PALMBERG’s models, known for their quality, flexibility and innovation, Trias is making significant strides forward. And it goes without saying that the working environment is already being reimagined in Schönberg. As the writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once said: the future must not be foreseen, but made possible.
