The first six models in Psykea's Classic Lamps Series arose from a philological analysis of lamps from the past, a collector's passion and the awareness that too many vintage pieces are now at risk of becoming extinct.
Blown in small batches by Italian artisans, these four-layered glass lamps come in various colours and have brass components and fabric-reinforced cables.
To avoid glare, the models are designed to cast a beam of direct (white) light downwards, and diffused (coloured) lighting throughout the space.
A 7-colour limited edition is currently available, but customers may also request particular colours.
In this first batch, there is only one breach of tradition: the inner layer of the white version is ochre. This diffuses warmer light when the lamp is switched on.
All the models can either be purchased separately or as a cluster, with an optional multiple-outlet canopy. This allows you to create particular compositions, playing with height, shape and colour.
The use of LED or energy-saving (CFL) 7-25W bulbs, providing warm white (2700K) lighting, is recommended.
