ANARCHITECT is a multiple award-winning architecture, interior architecture and design practice based in Dubai and London that specializes in delivering bespoke projects for design conscious private and corporate clients globally. Our diverse portfolio of built work spans residential, leisure, hospitality, workplace and culture throughout the Middle-East, Europe and Asia.
Founded in 2013 by British architect Jonathan Ashmore, the practice manifests architecture across diverse scales of design with superlative craft, detail and materiality. Architectural discourse is applied in equal measure to each of the disciplines – architecture, interior and design to create highly resolved buildings, spaces and objects beautifully balanced in form, function and detail.
Our unique architectural approach to design traces context, narrative, social engagement and human behaviour to create spaces and experiences individual to each project, location and client. ANARCHITECT recently became one of the first Internationally RIBA Chartered practices outside of the UK while still remaining a boutique design driven office, further recognizing our consistent high quality of design and professionalism.
Biography
Jonathan Ashmore | Founder and Director
With over a decade of professional experience working for internationally acclaimed Architectural practices in Europe and the Middle-East, British chartered architect Jonathan Ashmore founded multiple Award Winning and Internationally RIBA Charted Architecture, Interior Architecture and Design practice ANARCHITECT.
A post-graduate of the renowned Bartlett School of Architecture in London, Jonathan is an elected member of the RIBA Gulf Chapter and a British Council Cultural Excellence Fellowship Mentor. He is also an active design critic and regular architectural speaker across a variety of professional platforms and international academic institutions.
Jonathan’s passion for craftsmanship and materiality is consistently present in his work to realize highly refined buildings and spaces. His diverse portfolio of built work spans residential, leisure, hospitality, workplace and cultural projects of which several have received international design awards with work regularly published around the world in the global design press.
Jonathan’s practice ANARCHITECT has been a prominent winner at the international design awards and has been gaining global recognition through creative collaborations with Burberry, Brownbook, Dubai Design Week and Wallpaper*.
Militza Ashmore | Head of Creative Development and Communications
Serbian Brit Militza Ashmore is an energetic and unconventional globetrotter specialized in PR and Communications in the fields of Luxury and Design. A graduate of the prestigious London School of Economics with an Honours Degree in Politics and International Relations, she now takes care of the creative development and communications at ANARCHITECT, immersing the practice within a culture of lifestyle and luxury.
Militza brings with her four years of experience working at Tiffany& Co. in the fields of PR and Event Management. She was responsible for some of the most successful Tiffany Launches in the UAE and for managing and nurturing valuable Client and Press relationships.
With passion for brand strategy and communications and a global exposure to different cultures and unique business practices, Militza innately values the importance of presentation and style with all that she engages with. She offers invaluable, objective ‘non-designer’ perspective to the Practice’s work and assures the smooth internal management of all ANARCHITECT processes.
