Camarim
Camarim was founded by Vasco Matias Correia and Patrícia Ferreira de Sousa in 2007.
Their designs encompass a wide range of briefs, budgets and scales, on new buildings, existing buildings and product design.
Their work is published in magazines, books and documentaries from America to Asia and has been the subject of academic studies in Australia, Brazil, Portugal, United Kingdom, Switzerland, among others.
They received the Häuser Award* in 2018, the Ibero-American Award for Architecture and Urbanism** and the 40 Under 40 distinction by the Chicago Athenaeum in 2016, the Baku Architecture Award in 2015, the A.Prize** and the ASCER Award in 2014, among others.
Vasco Matias Correia
Born in Lisbon in 1978, he earns his Diploma in Architecture by the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade de Lisboa in 2003.
From 2003 to 2006 he collaborates with Stéphane Beel Architecten, in Ghent, and from 2006 to 2007 he collaborates with Norman Foster, in London.
In 2007 he founds Camarim with Patrícia Ferreira de Sousa.
In 2015 he is a consultant to the HIDA government agency, in Japan.
Since 2015 he has been a lecturer and guest critic in Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom, including the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid and the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de València.
Patrícia Ferreira De Sousa
Born in Lisbon in 1978, she earns her Diploma in Architecture by the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade de Lisboa in 2003.
From 2003 to 2006 she collaborates with Stéphane Beel Architecten, in Ghent, and from 2006 to 2007 she collaborates with Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, in London.
In 2007 she founds Camarim with Vasco Matias Correia.
Since 2015 she has been a lecturer and guest critic in Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom, including the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid and the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura de València.
