After studying ceramic art for several years - including a lengthy spell in Japan - Finke studied beaux arts at the UdK Berlin focusing on the interface between the applied and fine arts.
Since 1999 Christian Finke's work has concentrated on interior lighting. His approach is that of a sculptor cum architect working within carefully restrained boundaries. There is always a keen interest in the intrinsic character of the materials used and the play of contrasts which they produce.
Christian Finke works in Berlin since 1995.
